In our family, English muffin pizzas remain a nostalgic favorite and a delicious meal enjoyed across two generations! Both my mom and dad made these when they were kids, then made them for me when I was growing up — and now we’re still making them. The only difference? We’ve upgraded the most important part of the recipe: the English muffin! 

Made with our naturally fermented sourdough Dam Good® English Muffins — handmade with no preservatives and crafted from ingredients you can find in your own kitchen — these mini pizzas are quick, comforting, satisfying, and somehow always hit the spot.

We love using whatever veggies we have on hand — it’s our favorite way to reduce food waste without sacrificing flavor. Toasted just right, with crispy edges and a chewy sourdough base, they’re as fun to make as they are to eat.

Sourdough English Muffin Pizza Recipe

Base English Muffin Pizza Ingredients

  • 4 Dam Good® English Muffins, split into halves
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (or a dairy-free alternative)

Topping Ideas

  • Veggie Lovers - mushrooms, peppers, artichokes, onions, pesto
  • Margherita Style - fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce & basil
  • Salad Pizza - lightly dressed green salad
  • Pepperoni - mini pepperoni (animal or plant-based) 

Oven Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toast the English muffins lightly for 3–4 minutes for a crispier base.
  3. Sauce & cheese: Spread 1–2 tbsp of pizza sauce (or pesto) on each half. Sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Top it off: Add your favorite toppings.
  5. Bake: Cook for 10–12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges are golden.
  6. Top with fresh herbs, parmesan cheese, serve warm, and enjoy!

Air Fryer Instructions

For extra crispy edges in even less time, the air fryer is perfect for English muffin pizzas!

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Toast the muffins in the air fryer basket for 2–3 minutes until lightly crisp.
  3. Assemble pizzas: Spread sauce, sprinkle cheese, and add toppings.
  4. Air fry: Return pizzas to the basket in a single layer and cook for 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  5. Top with fresh herbs, parmesan cheese, serve warm, and enjoy!

Pro tip: Don’t overload with toppings or the cheese may not melt evenly. Cook in batches if needed so they have enough airflow.
